Tuia Lodge has been a vital part of the Donnybrook community since its establishment in 1985. Establishing and growing the facility has been a labour of love, and the result of significant support, commitment and fundraising from local volunteers, who had a vision of a beautiful boutique facility surrounded by natural bushland.
Tuia Lodge first opened its doors and offered its facilities to 16 residents. The Lodge was extended in May 2006 with the opening of the Eastern Wing, providing an additional ten rooms and some much-needed facilities. The Eastern Wing was officially opened by MP Geoff Prosser, in front of a strong community presence.
In 2015, the northern wing extensions were completed and opened for an additional 14 residents. This was achieved through financial support from the federal government, and much generosity from the Donnybrook community.
Our staff and residents are like family – and they love being a part of the Donnybrook community. We have regular outings, we partner with local businesses, and we welcome volunteers.
